After harvesting, aronia berries are juiced. The pulp, which is unpalatable, is typically discarded as waste, but the juice has potential for food-related applications. We developed a resin extraction procedure to analyze anthocyanins from the aronia juice. FPX66 resin was found to give the best recovery values for anthocyanins at various bed volumes and dilutions of NURS FPX 3200 Assessment 4 Attempt 1 Robbing the Dead: Is Organ Conscription Ethical?.

3. Extraction of Flavonoids

To determine the best resin to use for extraction of flavonoids, anthocyanins, and polyphenols from aronia berries, four macroporous resins with different pore size, polarity, and shape were tested. Portions of each resin were soaked overnight in two bed volumes of 100% ethanol and cleaned twice by stirring in two bed volumes of 5% NaOH aqueous solution for 1 h.

The column experiment was performed at the same mass and bed volume ratio of resin to juice as the batch experiments. The results showed that FPX 66 was the best resin with anthocyanins and flavonoids extraction, with recovery values of 62%-76%, COM FPX 1250 ASSESSMENT 2 Attempt 1 Written Communication: Writing an Email.

The adsorption and desorption behaviors of anthocyanins, flavonoids, and polyphenols in the FPX 66 resin during the elution process are shown in Figures 4-7. The concentrations of anthocyanins and flavonoids decrease during the first hour and a half before reaching equilibrium after 2 h. Polyphenols, however, have a lower concentration decline during the elution process.

4. Extraction of Polyphenols

A series of batch experiments involving aronia juice, whole berries, and pomace have been performed to evaluate the effectiveness of four microporous resins for phenolic antioxidant extraction. All of the resins, Amberlite XAD 1180N, XAD7HP, XAD761, and FPX66, are capable of sorption and recovery of both anthocyanins and flavonoids from A. mitchurinii and A. melanocarpa pomace, with the best results obtained with FPX66, which resulted in total NURS FPX 6105 Assessment 1 Learning Theories and Diversity recoveries of anthocyanins and flavonoids of 72-76%.

Due to the high concentration of anthocyanins in A. mitchurinii, procedure optimization was undertaken to improve extraction efficiency. Column adsorption experiments were performed using the best resin, FPX66, and varying resin to bed volume ratios of resin to juice dilutions to determine optimal conditions. The column experiment results showed that the adsorption and desorption of anthocyanins and flavonoids reached equilibrium after 2 h. The ACC 5301 Unit I Management Applications of Accounting resulting extracts were determined for anthocyanins and flavonoids using a UV/Vis spectrophotometer. The resulting anthocyanins and flavonoids were found to be comparable to the recovery achieved with the batch method described above.
