The phenomenon of a mold sticking in aluminum die casting has long been a source of frustration for die casting practitioners in general. This article outlines five techniques that casting practitioners can use to improve the stickydie castingof their castings. The design of the die casting process, die surface treatment production and maintenance, as well as the monitoring and control of the die casting production process, all require that die casting practitioners take all necessary precautions in order to minimize and control the occurrence of a sticky die.

Many casting defects, such as cold shut, lack of material, internal porosity and leakage caused by the failure of the surface dense layer, and others, will be directly exacerbated as a result of the sticky mold's sticky surface. To minimize and control the incidence of sticky dies, die casting practitioners must take all necessary precautions beginning with the design of the die casting process, through die surface treatment production and maintenance, and die casting production process control, among other things. Here are five suggestions for reducing the stickiness of die casting molds.

1. Make adjustments to the die casting process parameters.
When it comes to the sticky mold, process parameters such as pressure and speed are extremely important. Other factors to consider include alloy temperature during pouring, mold temperature during casting, and other factors. Therefore, the most appropriate process parameters should be calculated according to the structure and use requirements of the casting.

Improvements should be made to the design structure of the Gating System.
Among the objectives of the improved gating system's design structure is to prevent the alloy liquid from continuously washing the cavity wall or core while also increasing the cross-sectional area of the inner gate to an appropriate level. The gate and introduction should be moved to a wider and thicker position. The open pouring system of the bottom injection method should be attempted with a new gate and introduction direction. Continuing to stand at the intersection:Begin working on improving the mold runner. High gate speeds cause the temperature of the localcustom die castingof the metal impact wall to rise, resulting in the formation of the sticky mold occurring more quickly. As a result, you should consider lowering the gate speed.

3. Controlling the temperature of an aluminum alloy mold
The higher the temperature of the mold, the easier it is to produce sticky molds in the mold. The actual production process can make use of infrared thermometers to detectdie casting mouldsticking parts and control the mold temperature between 150°C and 220°C so that thealuminum alloy die castingachieves thermal equilibrium, as shown in the video below. It is necessary to set the casting temperature of aluminum alloy to the lowest possible value, which is between 610 and 680 degrees Celsius, depending on the casting requirements, in order to reduce the formation of sticky mold.

Mold Surface Preparation (Optional)
There are some surface treatment methods that can be used to prevent the growth of sticky molds. To treat the surface of the mold, it is recommended that special materials with higher melting points be used. Variouszinc alloy die casting can be used to treat the surface of the mold in order to prevent the formation of sticky molds, as well as to improve the surface of theChina die casting manufactureritself. The hardness of the material at high temperatures, the method of reducing the activity of the mold surface in order to avoid thedie casting defects causes and solutionssticking to the mold, and other factors are all taken into consideration in the design.

5. Final Recommendations
Adjust the spraying position and amount; check the hardness value of the mold; apply heat treatment and nitridation or replace the mold material; reduce the injection speed as needed; increase the mold cooling; increase the spraying on the overheated position; and install a cooling system, among other things.
