This Cross-Faction WoTLK Classic Gold feature will first be tested on PTR version 9.2.5. Following an undetermined timeframe for testing after which it will go live to World of Warcraft's official World of Warcraft servers. Many functions could be modified, added, or removed in the course of that.

Cross-Faction raiding within Word of Warcraft will be available in all of the content, including legacy instances that were previously released expansions. Some registrations will include Battle of Dazar'alor, Trial of the Crusader, Icecrown Citadel, and more with specific features to each faction. Although Blizzard allows for individual raid groups to be formed, Guilds will still strictly be either Alliance either Horde. So, players will have to follow a few measures to form a raid party consisting of both factions. The primary options include:

1. Invite Players via Battle Tag or Real ID Players on one's friendslist who are with the other faction.

2. Cross Faction Community: those who opt-in to this service can invite additional faction characters.

In addition the leader of the Group Finder can choose to allow any faction player for membership in the group. World of Warcraft guild leaders can openly disable this feature or restrict which players become members of their guild. According to the server, this could be beneficial for Alliance-focused groups since on average, their population is dwarfed by the Horde.

Before going into a raid correctly, Alliance and Horde players are likely to remain hostile. Therefore, it's recommended to stay within zones of safety to prevent being attacked through accident or by other players outside of the raid group. Cross Faction groups can openly communicate through party chat, but they won't get access to any collaborative features in WoTLK Gold WoW's open-world.
